What’s a good speech? A good speech is, in short, a text in clear language, tailored to the listeners, with a memorable message, embellished with colourful images in an oral format. A speech with impact marries rhyme with reason.

Who is a good speaker? Speakers are made not born. Anyone can be a good speaker. The secret is in the preparation. Take your time to think about what to say and how to say it. And hire a good speechwriter….

Writing speeches – for others – is a profession; learning to write speeches is a combination of theory and practice, knowledge and skill. That is why I deliver my courses to small groups. That way the participants learn from my experience and expertise, but also from the successes and mistakes of the others. During my courses I alternate short pieces of theory with writing exercises, videos and examples. The participants will practise, discuss what works and what does not, and learn from the speeches from great and less great speakers.

Even if you already have a lot of writing experience, including writing speeches, sometimes you can use a little help to put theory into practice.
