How do I write your speech?

How do I write your speech?

The whole process begins with a conversation. We start with ‘message’ and ‘audience’. Who will be your audience? What do they expect? Are they friendly or hostile? What do you want to tell them? What impression do you want to make? What do you want the audience to ‘take away’ from your speech?
I use this information to build the speech using message, arguments, stories, structure and style. Our conversation helps me to get a picture of who you are, how you talk and how you move. This determines the language and tone of the speech, because each speaker has a different style.

Based on the insights from our interview and any other background information, I start writing.
I will supply a the draft for you to make comments, additions or changes. I will then do a rewrite. This is a vital part of the process. A good relationship between speaker and writer ensures that a speech becomes what a speech should be: tailor-made!

After that, it’s time to practice. I can help you with that, too. I can advise you on how to pause and stress, how to speak with poise and rhythm and how to project your voice. And how to connect with the audience when using a script.

If you are going to speak in front of a – very – large audience, we can also practise using a TelePrompter, in collaboration with the company Scriptease (http://www.scriptease.nl/congressen.html)
